about

Traditional song about two brothers who discover each other on the battlefield in uniforms of different colors.

lyrics

Twas on the field of Antietam where many the soldier fell
is where occurred the story for which to you I tell
The dead lay all around me, together we all lay
for we had had a fearful fight upon the hill that day

And as I lay there musing upon the damp cold ground
my knapsack for a pillow my blankets wrapped around
And as I lay there musing I heard a bitter cry
"Lord save me and take me home to die...

I thought the boy who shot me had a familiar face
but in the battle's fury was difficult to trace
I thought it was my brother if him I could see
I'd kiss him and forgive him and lay me down to lie"

I quickly ran unto him and heard his story 'o
it was my long lost brother who lay in his gore
And as I spoke of loved ones that we had left behind
he whispered "my dear brother I can die now"

Then quickly as a slumbering babe his eyelids closed
and I saw him sink with shortening breath to death's long repose
and with many tears and sad farewell I scooped a narrow grave and
there he sleeps beneath the sod by Antietam's waves

The Striped Bananas Ann Arbor, Michigan

psychedelic music that is birthed through his guitar.

Chantelle's thunderous bass playing and angelic singing make her a contrast within herself.

The bearded drummer, Lowden, smashes his drums with so much tribal fury his hands often turn crimson red.
